Office of Postsecondary Commissioner

Helping non-traditional college students complete their education and career goals via an online platform that connects students with available educational opportunities they need to complete degrees in their chosen field.

Department of Transportation

Citizen-sourcing service requests (e.g., road obstructions, potholes, etc) by developing a tool for drivers to send feedback directly to the Maintenance Division personnel in the area.  

RI Department of Education

Leveraging behavioral interventions (e.g. “nudge” letters to parents and students) to encourage better school attendance by tapping into social norms in their peer groups based on approaches used to lower energy consumption by displaying neighbor usage on utility bills.

Division of Information Technology

Designing a dashboard showing the types of technology being utilized across the State by its various municipalities resulting in a library of technology by vendor name, cost, support, and any existing contractual commitment in place.

Department of Environmental Management

Digitizing site remediation/brownfield documents so that the general public and environmental consultants can easily visualize data in a map-view.

Department of Labor and Training

Redesigning the unemployment insurance filing program through strategic communication efforts to drive people from making phone calls to online transactions.  Also, enhancing the digital presence of the Real Jobs Rhode Island Program through a series of interactive videos and online content.

Develop a new employee handbook with a focus on aesthetic, usability and accessibility.

Develop a multi-channel internal communications strategy, including a communications plan, to boost employee engagement and strengthen with unity of the department.

Connect initiatives across executive branch agencies with resource allocation in the budget in order to identify gaps between resource allocation and agency priorities.

Develop a user-friendly “Purchasing 101” module to share across State agencies to train employees on the basics of public procurement processes, systems and critical information.
